Elizabeth, a Cambridge scientist and with a passion for bio-based solutions, spent years studying how nature can inspire innovation. After discovering a passion for sewing during the pandemic, and later auditioning for The Great British Sewing Bee in 2025, she became aware of fashion’s environmental impact. Seeing a need for truly sustainable, design-led materials, she combined her scientific expertise with her love of colour and craft to build Bumboo: a bamboo-powered fashion brand rooted in science, driven by style, and built to deliver science-backed comfort, colour and conscience.
