Arundhathi started CAAYAL because she felt deeply that the people behind India’s extraordinary craft deserved to be seen. India is a global centre for fashion and jewellery, yet the artisans who give the industry its beauty and skill are so often overlooked. She couldn’t shake the feeling that their stories were being lost. CAAYAL became her way of putting Indian craftsmanship back at the heart of the story, working with fair trade organisations and artisan groups in India to create handcrafted brass jewellery and reinvest 10% of the profits into artisan communities.
