Around nine years ago, Ellie took part in Dry January for the first time. She remembers going on a night out with friends and quickly becoming bored of sugary, fizzy options like cola. She wanted something more sophisticated, with a taste closer to her usual choice of cocktails. Ellie began tinkering with ingredients, extractions and distillations, working on her recipe. A trip to Colombia then gave her all the tropical inspiration she needed for the final flavours, and cemented what she wanted Caleño to be about: bringing joy to not drinking by infusing it with the Latin free spirit she had grown up with.
