Growing up, nothing in Yas’s household went to waste. They upcycled, recycled or repurposed everything, from scraps to overripe bananas turned into banana cake. In her senior global management career, Yas worked with ethical companies where sustainability was key and saw firsthand how countries like India and Germany tackled waste in innovative ways. Inspired, she founded Urban Green Company to bring that ethos to the UK. Today, she handcrafts every product in a UK workshop using 100% natural materials. Her mission is to turn the tide on plastic with beautiful, practical alternatives like her lifelong-use Beeswax Bread Bag.
