After leaving the non-profit sector in 2019, Katie founded Cake or Death and began baking for local cafés. Her bestselling vegan brownie was created after a customer request and, seven years and 100,000 customers later, is still handmade in the bakery. Originally founded in Hackney, East London, Cake or Death moved to Exeter in 2021 and now posts fudgey, chocolate-packed brownies to customers across the UK every day.
