Inspired by a duffle bag she saw in Italy, and despite the UK economy being in a recession, Anya borrowed some money to import bags to England. After sending a bag to Harpers and Queen she subsequently sold 500 bags. As her business grew, she went from manufacturing in Italy to owning her own factory in Hackney to selling in luxury stores worldwide.
