Being an insomniac, Georgie missed the bygone brand of Provencal lavender oil, its distinctive, calming fragrance on her pillow and the lingering deliciousness after soaking in a lavender bath. Other lavender oils, whether from the UK or Provence, from markets, distilleries, cooperatives or farms simply didn’t match up. Serendipitously (long story) she met the farmer who used to supply the discontinued brand in September ‘23 whilst out walking in Provence and the smell was instantly recogniseable. It’s a traditionally distilled 'single-estate' lavandula hybrida and was the catalyst for her using her granny’s name, Elgiva, to found a luxury homewares business built around this natural oil.
