After being made redundant during the pandemic, Rhian returned to her parents’ home in the UK from the UAE, where she had been based for work. The idea for Veg Life came about when Covid rules required pub-goers to order a substantial meal with their pint, but her local pub had no vegan or vegetarian options. With a Scotch egg deemed substantial enough, she created the Scotchee, a plant-based twist that lets the pigs and chickens off Scotch free! What started as a simple solution has since grown into an award-winning business, and things have taken on a life of their own.
