WUKA was born from Ruby's experience growing up in Nepal, where periods came with shame, discomfort and silence. She used old sari rags that leaked and made her miss school and sport. Years later, while studying environmental science in the UK, Ruby realised disposable period products were creating huge plastic waste too. She started WUKA to create period care that is comfortable, sustainable and shame free.
